Paper or Digital?

Paper or Digital?

Whether it’s invitations, thank yous, or taking notes, I’ve debated this question many times. Since we’re constantly surrounded by digital technology, sometimes this feels easy and obvious. Yet using “our machinery” can also feel fleeting and impersonal.

Generally, I land on Team Paper...which means I’m the one my digital friends call when they’re searching for a mailbox to send a birthday card.

Recently, I came across a new study that boosted my conviction in the power of going analog. Handwriting accesses our brains and our bodies in a way that typing simply does not. This can lead to things like stronger memory recall, greater accuracy and more personalization.

I’ll probably keep storing my grocery list in my phone. But when I’m looking to build plans, achieve goals or get the creative juices flowing, I’ll turn to paper and pen.

For me, using shapes, different ink colors and highlighters is a more stimulating and engaging experience. Handwriting helps me get clarity on what I want, why I want it, and how I'll get it!

What about you?

Paper or Digital….what’s your preference?
